Judge Dredd (I AM THE LAW!!)

After several years of injustice, Judge Dredd finally makes his way back onto the big screen, Released by Lionsgate, Dredd is the most famous of the elite corps of Street Judges that run Mega-City One, charged with the power not only to enforce the law, but also to instantly convict and sentence offenders – and occasionally even execute them. Dredd's entire face is never shown properly traditionally from the strip.

"It sums up the facelessness of justice − justice has no soul. So it isn't necessary
for viewers
to see Dredd's face
From the trailer, its easy to establish that this version is far more darker and grittier than Sylvester Stallones camp version. The title character is played by Karl Urban and the antagonist is Leana Heady who plays the evil Cersei Lannister in Game of thrones, but what I'm most excited about is that this movie was shot in Cape Town,  Nico Dekker, CEO of Cape Town Film Studios, says
Eish Bra!! are those taxi/kombis in Judge Dredd?!!

"The film is a major breakthrough for the studios and for South Africa to have secured a production of the calibre of Judge Dredd
The studios are the first custom-built Hollywood-style film studio complex in Africa.

EntertainmentAfrica reports that the film's makers, DNA films, chose Cape Town Film Studios for the production of Judge Dredd. The site quotes DNA producer Andrew McDonald:
The film is not location specific and could have been made in any country in the world. The affordability of South Africa as a film destination and the new high tech Cape Town Film Studios provided us with the ideal combination.
We can expect to see Judge Dredd hit our Happy places sometime in September this year

Pulp Fiction (Say what again)

Electronic Video Jockeying or VJ is becoming increasingly popular and people are doing some really creative stuff like Electronic VJ, Pogo, who released his newest track/video about a week ago. This video is a mash up of the Quentin Tarantinos Cult Classic Pulp fiction, titled "Lead Breakfast" a play on words from the opening sequence with Jules and Vincent collecting goods on Marcellus Wallaces behalf from Bretts apartment, where some of the movies most famous and memorable quotes are reworked into the sequence of a song with a really nifty beat that plays on you from the get go.Even if you have never really been a Pulp Fiction fan, here is a good reason to give the movie a re-watch. Enjoy this awesome remix.

Flipboard finally comes to Android!!

Download Flipboard for Android here
Flipboard is a news and social aggregator, similar to the way RSS feeds works, except with a cutting edge difference, it turns your internet into a magazine and this makes for a really exciting an unique experience.

Amongst the many advantages of Flipboard, you can now, through one platform, view all the latest news from all those awesome sites you have subscribed to but generally have forgotten about because you have to access them through so many different sites and this is Flipboards main purpose, to make the internet more functional. Having used it now for the last two days for the first time ever, I am ridiculously impressed at the ability to view the internet as a magazine. More particularly, it adds a new dimension to Twitter and Facebook.

The app, named app of the year in 2010 made its final release on Googles App store early on Friday morning, it has however been available on Samsungs Galaxy SIII and will be shipped with the device. For the moment, Flipbook is only available to Android smartphone users, tablet users wishing to download and use this app, will have to deal with the smartphone version until Flipbook developers release the fully functional tab version.

“People are amazed by all the things they can see on Flipboard, and often the most personal and interesting stories come from friends,” Flipboard CEO Mike McCue said in the statement. “Today we have over 2000 featured content partners from around the world and, now with the addition of Google+ and YouTube, we have all of the popular social networks for our readers to sit back and enjoy.”

Like Instagram, Flipboard has previously been available to only advantaged Ipad users but as the digital line continues to blur, developers are moving away from exclusivity deals and making their applications available to a broader base of smartphone users making the web a more exciting place for everybody.

Whats wrong with this picture? Mcdonalds demystifies Burger Advertising

Burger comparison, left half bought from Mcd's 2. Right half photo shopped
How many times have you walked into a fast food restaurant and ordered that Juicy burger pictured on the big advertising banner only to be served with something that barely resembles the photo, or do you remember that scene from Falling Down where an irate Michael Douglas is served a miserable excuse for a hamburger, I'm sure, when he asked "Can anybody tell me whats wrong with this picture" he would have loved to have seen this video.

As part of their campaign to "demystify the process of burger advertising", Mcdonalds Canada produced this short video explaining the concept of food fashioning and what the difference is from the burger you eat to the Juicy burger on their advertising billboard.

The explanation is part of an initiative by McDonald's Canada to "open the virtual doors" and address customers' growing curiosity about food along with "the prevalence of myths," said spokeswoman Karin Campbell.

"The growth of online and social platforms facilitates the asking of questions and the getting of answers — that's how customers engage," Campbell said. "That conversation is already happening. We really want to be part of it."

McDonald's Canada, in their effort to become more part of the global conversation on the internet have created a forum on their website that allows customers to openly evaluate their experience at the Giant fast food chain and ask any questions relating to aspects of the fast food chain they aren't too comfortable with.

The video was shot in response to one of the questions; others include "How much food do you deep fry in a day?" and "Why does it take unnaturally long for your food to spoil?"

Well, at least we all have the opportunity now to be Morgan Spurlocks......Check out the food fashioning video, then check out the Michael Douglas clip (hillarious).

SYNOPSIS

Pulling back the curtain on the secretive world of the global arms trade, Andrew Feinstein reveals the corruption and the cover-ups behind weapons deals ranging from the largest in history - between the British and Saudi governments - to BAE's controversial transactions in South Africa, Tanzania and eastern Europe, and the revolving-door relationships that characterise the US Congressional-Military-Industrial Complex. He exposes in forensic detail both the formal government-to-government trade in arms and the shadow world of illicit weapons dealing - and lays bare the shocking and inextricable links between the two.
The Shadow World places us in the midst of the arms trade's dramatic wheeling and dealing, ranging from corporate boardrooms to seedy out-of-the-way hotels via far-flung offshore havens, and reveals the profound danger this network represents to all of us.
